In the video below, you can see a hemostat efficiently removing provisional chairside restorations cemented with polycarboxylate cement.
A few words about the cement itself. Adhesor Carbofine was used. It seals perfectly, has no smell, and causes no postoperative sensitivity. It is relatively easy to remove and clean with ultrasound.
Note the condition of the soft tissues before trying in the finals. It’s all about fit and seal.
BTW, why two sets of provisionals?
First of all, this is a full-mouth rehab case, which has its specifics.
- The first set is made chairside once the preps are done—to keep the teeth covered.
- The second set consists of long-term lab-printed composite provisionals for an occlusion test-drive.
