Temporary crown on a destroyed tooth

How do you make a temporary crown when the tooth is severely destroyed?

This is a very common situation, especially in Endodontic cases, where patients often present with such (or even worse) defects.

Following the restorative-driven endodontics concept, we always aim to combine these disciplines synergistically — taking advantage of the prosthetic phase even during the root canal treatment process.

When it comes to anterior teeth, we want to temporize them to ensure the patient’s comfort.

Sometimes, we do a simple mock-up before starting treatment, take an impression for the temporary crown, perform the endo, core build-up, and prep — and voilà, the provisional crown is done.

P.S. The last image in the clinical carousel shows the final crown.

More tips, tricks, and endo/restorative protocols are taught in our BIG ENDO-RESTO Course.

You will learn and practice hands-on:

✔️ Primary ENDO

✔️ Re-treatments

✔️ Post-ENDO rehabilitation
